Frequently Asked Questions

GencardaSuite pricing has a number of options to suit a variety of business models but all of these are based on the number of recordholders you have and the frequency of updates and additions to these records. Our client sizes vary from as few as 1000 recordholders to over half a million people, so we have approaches and pricing to meet many different organisations and requirements. We are happy to confirm pricing once we have an understanding of your organisation and how you would implement GencardaSuite.

For relevant clients, GencardaSuite may be purchased on G-Cloud.

We are ISO 27001 certified and data security is built into every area of the product.

The smartcards: Virtual smartcards offer encrypted short life QR codes providing trusted authentication with n risk of unauthorised copying of data. Physical smartcards are industry-leading Java cards which apply an extremely high level of security – higher even than bank cards.

The system: The database is only accessible by known clients using role-based logins and by authorised Reference Point personnel.

All of our systems and apps are regularly penetration tested by CREST accredited organisations.

The minimum charge is 1000 recordholders. There is no maximum number and our clients vary very considerably in size.  Please contact us to discuss pricing when you are ready.

You are able to have as many cards as your organisation needs. Many will only have one card and others may have a number of different cards to suit their own needs.

Yes. We offer an API to facilitate this. Many of our clients use our API to populate the core individual records on the Gencarda database – either just for initial seeding or for ongoing updates as well. Gencarda then uses this imported data to manage every other aspect of Gencarda including  smartcard issue and maintenance, messaging and reporting.

Note: It is also entirely possible to create, update and maintain full individuals records with an authorised Admin login within Gencarda with no need to use the API.

During the setup process, you will receive comprehensive user guides alongside video calls to help you get started using the system. Support remains comprehensive during office hours for trained Gencarda administrators.

Yes.

GencardaSuite allows you to manage both physical and virtual cards easily. You are able to choose from:

  • only physical cards
  • only virtual cards,
  • or a combination of both.

Increasingly we find organisations are choosing virtual cards as their default option, owing to the additional unique functionality and environmental benefits that virtual cards offer, but it is always still possible to offer physical cards to those in their community that might want them.

GencardaSuite includes a powerful messaging module which enables you to send targeted messages directly to your cardholders’ Virtual smartcard stored on the Vircarda app on their smartphones.

You can easily cancel or suspend a smartcard using the Gencarda database. This means that virtual cards will be removed from the suspended account’s Vircarda wallet. When scanned using the Checarda app, suspended physical cards will clearly display that the card is no longer valid.

If you change the status of a virtual card, you have the option to remove it from the wallet immediately. Some schemes choose to keep suspended cards in the virtual wallet, but if a physical or virtual card is in a suspended state, the read will reflect that status when scanned.

The virtual card is not attached to the smartphone but to the cardholder’s Vircarda account. This app can be reinstalled on any new smartphone that the cardholder purchases very easily.

You can have Vircarda installed on multiple devices, all logged in at the same time. However, a card can only exist on one device at a time.

We send registration details via an SMS or an email to the cardholder. They then use this to validate their card. Once that card is loaded into a wallet, it is then linked to that individual’s account.
